Diagnostic Imaging for Women (difw) is Brisbane’s leading tertiary women’s imaging centre. The practice was established in 1998 as the first dedicated tertiary women’s imaging and intervention centre in South East Queensland.

difw’s specialist team of imaging technologists and support staff are led by consultant radiologist, Dr Paula Sivyer, in delivering the highest quality diagnostic imaging services, catering to the unique health concerns of women.

Our renowned reputation for women’s imaging excellence is built on investing in the latest technology, clinically tailored imaging acquisition, and comprehensive, detailed reports. We pride ourselves on our commitment to early detection and the positive patient outcomes.

Each difw patient receives clinically tailored imaging that is customised to best suit their needs and clinical presentation. Malignancy management is prioritised with timely, co-ordinated, and proactive communication of adverse findings.

Our precedence is to eliminate any delays to diagnosis – any required procedures are performed as soon as possible, often on the same day. We then ensure that the critical diagnostic information is communicated promptly and effectively to each and every patient and all involved healthcare professionals.

Dr. Paula Sivyer

Dr Paula Sivyer is a renowned specialist in women’s imaging and interventional radiology. She has lectured extensively in the field of women’s imaging and intervention, both nationally and internationally and has been published in the World Journal of Surgery. Dr Sivyer is also a Part II Viva examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR).

Dr Sivyer is responsible for bringing numerous technologies, as well as imaging and intervention techniques to Australia, including 10-year-comparator digital imaging archive (2004), digital mammography (2007) and Hologic ‘Genius’ 3D mammography, which difw was the first to introduce in Australia in 2010.
